Great question! The wholesale buying experience works for both individuals and organizations depending on your situation, what you’re looking to purchase, and your budget. As a dealer, we purchase in bulk to save money on cost. With the MADDOG Piping site, we’re able to keep the prices so low by maintaining the bulk purchasing aspect. Admittedly, this store is not designed for customers looking to purchase 1 reed, 1 chanter, or 1 roll of hemp. For singular quantities, you’re better off shopping through your normal retail outlet.
Just like your neighborhood wholesale membership club (for example Costco or Sam’s Club), the savings comes from purchasing in bulk. Not everyone needs 3 large bottles of ketchup, but many go ahead and buy that ketchup knowing that it’s extremely cheap and will eventually get used. The MADDOG Piping site was setup with the same in mind. Not every piper needs 10 chanter reeds or 3 rolls of hemp. But every piper that plays/competes regularly will easily go through 10 chanter reeds and 3 rolls of hemp over time. It’s cheaper to buy them in bulk and store for when they’re needed than buying one off. If you’re not big on storing products for future use, we’re hoping that customers looking to do individual product purchasing will get together with their friends that are looking for the same and buy it all in bulk and save money.
The other individual situation we see frequently are instructors who need supplies for their students.
In order to determine if your membership is up-to-date, paid for, and current, all you need to do is visit the My Account page. On that page, you will see a section for you called My Subscriptions that shows the current status of your membership.
If the status is ‘Active’ and you can see your ‘Next Payment’ date in the future, then you are good to go!
If the status is anything other than ‘Active’ (for example ‘Suspended’, ‘Cancelled’, ‘On Hold’, or ‘Pending’), then your membership is not current (Suspended or Cancelled) or never processed (On Hold or Pending).
On the same membership line on the My Account page, you will see an ‘Actions’ column. Under that column, you’ll find an action button that will allow you to complete your membership (usually just a “Pay Now” link because your payment didn’t process successfully when you were originally checking out).
